Started in early 2002 by Korean American leaders who recognized the need for Korean American civic participation and representation under the name Korean American Voters Alliance (KAVA), volunteers set up massive voter registration drives and launched civic education programs.
In January 2008, Korean American Professionals Society (KAPS) of Seattle merged with KAC-WA to combine the resources and purposes of the two organizations, and to further strengthen the Korean American community.
We are part of a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with sister chapters in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Oregon, and Washington, D.C.
The Executive Board is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing all of the projects and events for KAC-WA. The Executive Board meets monthly.
The Advisory Board provides community support and guidance to the Executive Board.
Committees consisting of the Executive Board members handle the daily operations of KAC-WA. Committees meet as needed, according to their own schedules.
