Recap of the 4th Annual Korean-American Grassroots Conference in D.C!

Starting on July 24th, KAC-WA and 19 participants travelled to the 4th annual Korean Americans Grassroots conference in Washington D.C. Many Korean Americans from across the country came together to discuss greater opportunities for civic engagement and issues relating to the community.

Our group ended up meeting with a variety of different members of the US House and Senate to discuss the impact of Korean Americans in our community. Some of our elected officials that were met with included Representatives Pramila Jayapal, Suzan Delbene, and Adam Smith. The group was also very excited to meet with Senator Patty Murray to discuss various issues such as immigration, economic policy, civil rights, as well as US-Korea relations.

The KAC-WA chapter walked away from the conference inspired with a new perspective on US government policies and the potential for anyone in the community to come in and take part in this process.

KAC-WA Registration Drive Update!

The KAC-WA voter registration team has been hard at work during the last few weeks hosting voter registration drives at local H-Marts, churches, and senior centers for the local King County elections. Our field representatives, Yunee Ham, and Gina Yu helped register an impressive 200 new voters for this current election season since June. They have also helped engage hundreds of more individuals within the Korean-American community to get more involved in the current elections.

Great job to our field representatives for doing such an excellent job!
